Cook's Gazette Explores Soufra's Language of Food

Cook's Gazette recently published Palestine: Issue 16 – The Language of Food, as Lisa Gershenson was inspired after experiencing Soufra, "The documentary...sparked in me a different interest, an awareness of the heritage and importance of food to the Palestinian community."

Exploring the Palestinian language of food, Lisa brings light to the stories behind the recipes and the connections that are kept alive through each dish, "Families preserve their sense of belonging, as well as a sense of longing for a place many have never seen. These newer cookbooks honor traditions, but the family recipes and stories also reflect the political realities and painful transitions that are an inevitable part of the diaspora."
